Job Description:

Spire Hospitality, a fast-growing, private equity backed company managing 30 full service premium branded properties across the United States for Private Equity, REITs and High Net Worth Individuals, is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee the accounting for Spire Hospitality and Joint Ventures. This is a an In-Office position at the Corporate office in Irving, TX.

Corporate Controller Responsibilities will include:


-Lead, coach, develop and train a team of accountants
-Collaborate and build relationships across all departments to ensure support as well as maintain efficient finance and accounting process
-Oversee monthly close process and provide accurate reports in a timely manner to stakeholders
-Monthly review of bank / balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, cash flow analyses and intercompany activities
-Oversee lender compliance and reporting for all entities
-Make decisions regarding compliance with GAAP and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry
-Review acquisition purchase price allocations, opening balance sheets, debt modifications/ refinances, and other technical areas as needed.
-Establish and maintain systems and internal controls. Working with the V.P. of Accounting and Internal Audit to ensure compliance with all applicable Spire policies and procedures
-Lead annual external audits for Spire and Joint Ventures
-Manage cash flow, funding of mortgages, and operating disbursements
-Assist with the acquisition/on boarding of new hotels
-Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and training of Hotel Controllers/Directors of Finance and corporate staff
-Additional assignments as needed for special projects

Required Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of accounting experience with at least 7 years of hospitality accounting experience and experience in public accounting. Previous experience as a Corporate Controller/ Director of Accounting is required. Bachelors' degree in Accounting/Finance is required. This position requires strong time management skill set with a focus on meeting deadlines and having the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. The ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment is critical.
