Job Description Job Description Inventory Accountant Title: Contract Inventory Accountant (Mid-Level) Location: On-site Type: 3-9 month contract (with potential to extend/convert) Role Overview Mid-level contract accountant to stabilize day-to-day accounting, with a heavy focus on inventory and warehouse-related accounting. This role will help the controller and finance team get caught up, clean up inventory issues, and improve processes during a high-growth, high-complexity period. Key Responsibilities Own day-to-day inventory accounting and related reconciliations Reconcile inventory between internal systems, warehouse reports, and channels (e.g., Amazon/3PL) Investigate discrepancies (shipments, returns, damages, write-offs) and propose corrections Prepare and maintain schedules supporting inventory balances and COGS Support month-end close activities related to inventory and general ledger Partner with operations/warehouse teams to strengthen inventory controls and documentation Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase accuracy and timeliness Assist with audit support, pulling schedules and documentation as needed Provide ad hoc analysis on margin, variances, and product-level performance Qualifications 3-7 years of accounting or audit experience, ideally with inventory-heavy businesses Solid understanding of inventory accounting concepts (receipts, adjustments, reserves, COGS) Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets and multiple systems Experience reconciling inventory across warehouse/3PL/e-commerce platforms preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) CPA or progress toward CPA a plus, but not required Profile & Attributes Highly numerate, analytical mindset "Gritty" problem solver - enjoys digging into messy data and reconciling differences Proactive, able to self-direct and push through ambiguity Detail-oriented but able to step back and see process implications Strong work ethic; reliable and accountable to deadlines Clear, concise communicator with both finance and non-finance partners Contract Details Duration: Initially 3-9 months, with potential to extend or convert depending on business needs and performance On-site role (no remote option at this stage) Target pay range to support a $45-55/hour bill rate (final rate dependent on experience) Benefits Vacation/PTO Medical Dental Vision 401k Bonus Relocation Telecommute - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
