Our amazing men and women are on a mission to make a difference in the world every single day and we need you to join our team The Lockheed Martin Digital Transformation Team "Ignite DX" is looking for a well-rounded Data Engineer to lead and architect big picture data solutions for our customers. We are seeking someone with strong project management, communication, and data engineering skills. This person needs to have knowledge of local, distributed, and cloud-based technologies; data virtualization concepts; and security/authentication mechanisms required to protect the data. This person will be responsible to architect complex solutions to aggregate disparate data into new sources that are ready for analysis by our data visualization team. Additionally, this person will focus on: --- Presenting and explaining complex data solutions to the team, customers, and various levels of management for concurrence and buy-in --- Building data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into data sources that are ready for analysis --- Documenting architecture, best practices, lessons learned, and How To's --- Teaching and upskilling junior data engineers, analysts, and customers --- Designing architectures and complex queries that can be easily scalable to other projects or teams --- Documenting data definitions, calculations, dictionaries, and architectures The employee selected for this position will be based out of Orlando, FL or Dallas, TX. Basic Qualifications: --- Experience building data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data into data sources that are ready for analysis --- Experience performing data verification/validation to ensure data accuracy --- Proficiency with writing SQL --- Strong interpersonal communications skills (verbal, presentation and written) --- Ability to optimize data system performance by identifying and resolving test and production development problems --- Ability to lead teams in designing and developing architectural solutions that can be easily scaled to other teams or projects --- Ability to lead and successfully deliver multiple projects simultaneously --- Basic understanding of data visualization products, such as Tableau, and how they work --- Ability to upskill and mentor customers, junior data engineers and data analysts --- Ability to successfully operate in an interactive virtual team environment --- Ability to obtain security clearance Desired Skills: --- MA or MS degree in the following or similar fields Math, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering --- Experience with connecting to SAP HANA and architecting data solutions from SAP HANA sources --- Experience operating with or in an Agile team --- Experience documenting data architecture and data dictionaries --- Hands-on experience with data analysis, statistical, and visualization packages --- Experience with Tableau, Python, APIs, Domino, R and similar tools/languages --- Demonstrated ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver an exceptional customer experience --- An understanding of traditional business intelligence and data warehousing concepts (ETL, data modeling, and reporting) Other Important Information You Should Know Expression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
