Job Description:
Job DescriptionSummary:With minimum supervision administer
radiopharmaceuticals and operate gamma cameras to produce accurate
diagnostic studies. Willingly assist physicians in some therapeutic
treatments. Performs all related miscellaneous task associated with
the nuclear medicine department such as hot lab, quality control,
record keeping, monitoring for contamination, etc. Willingly assist
in other areas of the radiology department when available in a
friendly and helpful manner. Works with management to help create
policies and procedures in accordance with state rules and
regulations. Participates in radioactive material license
inspections and works closely with management as the leader in the
nuclear medicine lab. Behavior and communication skills must align
with the organizations mission, values, and
culture.Responsibilities:--- Meets expectations of the applicable
OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or
Leader of Leaders.--- Maintains consistency with Administrative and
Departmental policies with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude,
attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.---
Performs all quality control procedures and paperwork daily that is
required on all cameras and related instruments following state
guidelines, and procedure manual.--- Order, receive and document
all radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used by the Nuclear Medicine
Department.--- Keep the Nuclear Medicine Manager current, which
includes the daily logs and the periodic tests and records required
by the license.--- Remain current on new trends and procedures in
nuclear medicine by reading the journals supplied to the department
and attending meetings. Share new ideas and information with
supervisors and Radiologists.--- Assist in planning and documenting
quality assurance surveys as needed for JCAHO accreditation.---
Perform as leader of the department by assisting with creation of
policies and procedures in accordance with state rules and
regulations and participating in state inspections.--- Performs all
other duties as assigned.Requirements:Graduate of AMA approved
School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved
equivalent required1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear
medicine setting required5 years of experience in a clinical
Radiology setting is preferredCurrent State Licensure
requiredCurrent BLS (American Heart Association) requiredNuclear
Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB requiredWork
