Job Description:
Description Summary: The Director Contracts will be responsible
for the oversight, coordination and management of strategic
sourcing initiatives for Lab and Surgical categories and additional
disciplines as assigned. This job will work in conjunction with the
Service Line Directors for the applicable disciplines and provide
sourcing, RFP and contracting expertise in support of their
efforts. The Director Contracts is a strategic sourcing
professional charged with delivering best in class contracting
strategies and expertise that result in supply chain cost
reductions while adhering to the current sourcing and contracting
processes, RFP development, supplier negotiations and developing
fully executed contracts. The Director Contracts will also be
responsible for the continued management of awarded suppliers. The
Director Contracts will accomplish this by contributing in all
aspects of the sourcing processes including, but not limited to,
opportunity identification, working closely with applicable Service
Line Directors, clinical and executive leaders, strategy alignment,
Requests for Proposals (RFPs), supplier negotiations and delivering
fully executed contracts. The Director Contracts will develop
strong relationships with suppliers, hospital key stakeholders and
corporate leadership. The Director Contracts must be able to
articulate and present sourcing initiatives to key stakeholders. To
be an effective part of the team; the Director Contracts must be a
self-sufficient person who can interpret clinical, physician,
facility, and system needs, think strategically, be able to
effectively manage projects from beginning to end, translate
objectives and present project deliverables. Responsibilities:

CHRISTUS Health guidelines related to the Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) designed to prevent or
detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information
(PHI). Collaborates in the short- and long-term strategic planning
process to identify sourcing opportunities at the local, regional
and system level. Partner with Service Line Directors and sourcing
team to develop initiative strategy, clinical requirements and
category specific terms and conditions for RFP submissions. Develop
and plan for any mitigation steps necessary to meet stakeholder
expectations. Present project rationale, timeline, and opportunity
impact for approvals. Manage, track and report regularly on project
status. Serves as the contracting subject matter expert to all
CHRISTUS Health facility department directors, C-Suite, physicians,
and facility management. Drafting, negotiating, redlining, and
management of agreements. Partners with the Service Line Directors,
as applicable, and the sourcing team to develop the initiative
strategy, clinical requirements, category-specific terms and
conditions, and KPIs for Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions.
Oversees contract negotiation of RFP terms and conditions with
suppliers and summarizes proposal results. Collaborates with the
finance team to provide meaningful analytics and cost impact
analyses supporting award recommendations. Follows the contract
checklist and contract launch package process upon contract award.
Responsible for specific sourcing initiatives, including
opportunity identification, supplier negotiation, and delivering
fully executed contracts. Collaborates with various levels of
management, key stakeholders, hospital executives, internal
customers, and suppliers to identify business needs and develop
solutions. Identifies opportunities for custom contracts to fill
gaps and increase contract coverage for the CHRISTUS Health System.
Manages strategic relationships and participates in quarterly
business reviews with suppliers. Cultivates and develops both new
and existing relationships in the facilities. Ability to translate
objectives and tasks into priority project planning and manage
multiple projects. Ability to understand and manipulate financial
analysis. Excellent communication and project management skills.
Ability to work on assignments independently and collaboratively in
a team environment. Meeting deadlines in a high-pressure
environment. Limited travel for meetings, team support, and project
oversight. Other - Perform other duties and special projects as

Bachelor’s degree required Experience Bachelor’s degree required
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Outlook 5 or more years of contract negotiating
experience in a hospital setting, a healthcare company, or working
with a healthcare IDN or GPO required 3 years of experience
managing sourcing events and drafting, redlining, and negotiating
contracts for the categories listed above preferred Extensive
experience negotiating and drafting favorable contract terms and
competitive pricing with top medical device/product manufacturers
and/or service providers Experience with formal solicitations,
including bids and requests for proposals Licenses, Registrations,
