Registered Nurse Operating Room (OR) | Contract | Waxahachie, TX This opportunity calls for a skilled Registered Nurse with specialized experience in the Operating Room, focused on delivering comprehensive perioperative patient care. The role involves direct patient intervention including medication administration, clinical treatments, specimen collection, and meticulous documentation. The RN will monitor patient status, communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and support patients emotionally and physically throughout their surgical journey. Key Responsibilities: Administer medications and perform clinical treatments as prescribed. Collect specimens and accurately document patient care activities. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to physicians, care teams, patients, and families. Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and ambulation. Coordinate care transitions including patient transfers, discharge planning, referrals, and psychosocial support. Assess patient and family education needs; provide tailored education based on age, culture, and condition. Advocate for patients physical and emotional well-being during perioperative care. Required Qualifications: Active Texas RN license. Minimum of 2 years recent Operating Room nursing experience. Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association. Proficient knowledge of surgical procedures and operation of Stryker video towers for laparoscopic surgeries. Ability to respond within an hour for weekday and weekend on-call duties. Flexibility to float between facilities as needed. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. On-call and weekend availability required with varying schedules.
