We are looking for a top-notch Payroll and Benefits Specialist reporting to the VP of HR.

Our ideal candidate will have a VERY strong background in payroll processing, benefits administration, payroll/benefits laws, and regulations. This role involves collaborating with our accounting team, managers, and employees to ensure timely and accurate payroll and benefits processing.



This is an ON-SITE, full-time position. The candidate must be familiar with working in a 750- 1000+ employee environment. We are located inside the 635 Loop, near 75 and Walnut Hill.

From our VP of HR, his MUST HAVES:

--- Payroll expertise - benefits are a huge plus

--- Multi-entity experience

--- Multi-state experience

--- Outstanding Enterprise Payroll System experience (ADP preferred)

--- Independent thinker and worker

--- Can handle fast-paced environments and pivot quickly

--- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

--- High level of attention to detail.

--- Ability to handle confidential information.

--- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Payroll Duties/Responsibilities:

--- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

--- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

--- Processes bi-weekly payroll and off-cycle checks, as needed.

--- Prepare and analyze regular audit reports. Communicate directly with employees and their leaders on timekeeping issues and questions.

--- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

--- Processes garnishments, wage deductions, and income verification requests.

--- Ensures payroll compliance with all applicable laws, including tax regulations, wage laws, and company policies.

--- Audits W2 preparation in HRIS to ensure accuracy.

--- Provides payroll reporting as needed.

--- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.



Benefits, Duties/Responsibilities:

--- Oversees the implementation, processing, and management of employee benefits programs

--- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.

--- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.

--- Responds to benefit inquiries regarding plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

--- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.

--- Responds to 401(k) inquiries relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.

--- Processes 401(k) enrollments and contribution changes.

--- Assists with the open enrollment process.

--- Administers the tuition reimbursement program.

--- Provides benefits reporting as needed.



Work Experience Requirements:

--- 3+ years of experience in payroll. Multistate experience preferred.

--- 1 - 2 years of benefits administration experience.

--- Strong knowledge of payroll and benefit laws and regulations.
