Position Summary:

Perform onsite/offsite maintenance training using a theory based approach in the classroom and practical applications in the hangar/work shop.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical Instruction (Classroom and Laboratory): 80%

  • Deliver technical instruction to customers and company personnel on Airbus Helicopter products and associated equipment. This includes theory and practical exercises for classes several weeks in duration.
  • Administer course exams/quizzes and homework to trainees.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
  • Determines effectiveness of training programs by supervising feedback and making improvements as necessary.
  • Maintain proficiency IAW changes in technology and maintenance procedures.
  • Act as the "face of Airbus Helicopters" and host to trainees while onsite, ensuring they receive an excellent customer experience.

    2. Support Equipment: 10%

    • Develop and maintain training devices, mock-ups and tools used during practical instruction.
    • Maintain an organized classroom and hangar environment.

      3. Administration: 10%

      • Responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of required training documentation / student transcripts and submitting in a timely manner at the conclusion of the course.
      • Assist in the development of homework, quizzes and exams questions.
        Additional Responsibilities:

          Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:



          • High School diploma or equivalent

            • BS/BA degree in relevant field


              • Minimum five (5) years' experience of field maintenance on Airbus helicopter products with at least 3 years on the H125 / H130 Airframes.
              • Requires extensive knowledge of helicopter mechanical theory, field maintenance, repair, overhaul, inspection, testing and troubleshooting, blueprints, wiring diagrams, inspection guides and engineering/technical directives.
              • Experience is required in ground operations/handling of the assigned aircraft.

                • Bi-lingual capability (French/German/Spanish).


                  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant or equivalent License from other CAA authority

                    • FAA Inspection Authorization
                      Knowledge, Skills, Proven Capabilities:


                      • Aircraft technician with Helicopter maintenance experience.
                      • Aircraft systems, flight characteristics and maintenance techniques

                        • Formal instructor experience.
                          Interpersonal Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

                          • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
                          • Strong ability to deliver information using a variety of techniques so that students with different experience levels and backgrounds are able to grasp and retain the information presented.
                          • Ability to command an audience and hold their attention throughout training sessions.
                          • Ability to work with translators.
                            Technical Systems Proficiency:

                                          • Responsible for crafting a positive customer experience and to deliver an excellent training experience. The Technical Training organization trains roughly 400-500 technicians a year across most of Airbus Helicopters products.

                                            • Involved Communication on a regular Basis with internal and external parties
                                              Physical Requirements:

                                              • Onsite: 80%
                                              • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Able to see and read helicopter instruments. Able to detect various colors. 100%
                                              • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference, vis radio communications or phone and to hear sounds on production floor 100%
                                              • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. 100%
                                              • Equipment Operation: Must be able to climb into, onto, and out of a helicopter and its cockpit; able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and special tools including production tools 95%
                                              • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs 25%
                                              • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment, aircraft panels and parts, etc. up to 30lbs/14kgs. 25%
                                              • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools, able to spin a helicopter rotor during pre-flight checks 20%
                                              • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer or in classrooms. 50%
                                              • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. 50%
                                              • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.20%
                                              • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents or company tours): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.25%
                                              • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
