Job Description:
American Metals Corporation, a premier distributor of metal
products for the construction and manufacturing industries, is
seeking a dedicated and responsible Class A Truck Driver /
Warehouse Associate. This role is pivotal for ensuring timely
delivery of metal products such as carbon steel, stainless steel,
and aluminum to our clients while also participating in warehouse
operations. The ideal candidate will support both transportation
and operational needs, providing a critical link in our supply
chain. Safely operate a Class A truck to transport metal products
to various customer locations. Inspect vehicles for mechanical
items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan
routes and meet delivery schedules. Document and log work/rest
periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight,
route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company
policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading
positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report
defects, accidents, or violations. Handle materials within the
warehouse, including picking, packing, and shipping orders. Help
maintain inventory levels and perform periodic inventory counts.
Proven work experience as a truck driver. Ability to drive long
hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck
driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle
unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.). Ability
to handle physical workload. Strong organizational and time
