You are meant to solve the hardest challenges/. /-We are seeking a Guidance and Control Hardware Engineer with some prior specialized experience in Inertial Measurement Unit /(IMU/) / Processor Selection and Integration for a position in Grand Prairie, TX/. Primary responsibility is technical oversight and monitoring of a major development subcontract/. Engineer will be responsible for overall IMU / Processor design, selection and updates as well as integration of processors with other air vehicle subsystems, payloads, and their interconnecting harnesses/. /-Responsibilities include: /-/-Requirements / Product development and analysis /-/-Interface analysis /-/-Architecture definition /-/-Hardware verification / qualification /-/-Transition to production activities for an inertial navigation or control subsystem /-/-Design reviews and ICD updates /-/-Processor / IMU design / selection and updates /-/-Lab testing and updates /-/-Integration / test planning and validation / verification of IMU / Processor systems /-The engineer will have the opportunity to work on and collaborate with cross functional teams with other engineering disciplines/. The engineer will have the opportunity to mentor less experienced engineers/. The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the Mid/-Cities region in the Dallas/-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas/. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth/. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate/. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family/. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman's University/. The Mid/-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty/-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth/. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB /(Hurst, Euless and Bedford/), NRH /(North Richland Hills and Richland Hills/), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth/.Basic Qualifications:/-Must have an active SECRET security clearance and it is preferred that the employee's investigation is in scope /(investigation performed within the past 5 years/)/. /-Bachelors degree in Engineering /-Must possess strong general electrical engineering knowledge /-Must be familiar with circuit design and components to include electronics testing and troubleshooting /-Experience in electronic system and subsystem design and test, systems analysis, software/-driven operations and test schemes /-Ability to develop system and subsystem performance requirements /-Excellent communications skills to interface with subordinates, peers, supervisors, subcontractors, and customers /-Need ability to work well in an interdisciplinary environmentDesired Skills:/-Five plus years of professional experience in guidance and control engineering is desired/. /-Experience with inertial navigation systems and control subsystems is desired/. /-Knowledge of using Matlab or similar applications for guidance and control simulation development is desired/. /-Ability to perform requirements definition, design trades, interface definitions, development estimating and tasking is desired/. /-Strong electronic systems integration testing and excellent troubleshooting skills are desired/. /-Ability to use test equipment to support acceptance testing, manufacturing production and in/-process testing, data processing and analysis is desired/.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job/.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer/.
