Position Summary: As a Data Scientist, you will participate to the next generation of tools which will help our colleagues and our customers: based on their data, we develop descriptive and predictive analytical models and visual operational applications that helps diagnose, troubleshoot and improve business activity. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Data science and modeling: 40% + Work with Connected Services Analyst, Customer Support Management teams and Customers to maintain and improve existing solutions, and propose new solutions to reduce Customer's fleet out of service rates. + Design analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains and industries. + Build algorithms as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). + Develop and implement supervised/unsupervised/machine learning methods for data classification. + Test models robustness and efficiency by conducting co-working sessions (design thinking, user experience, etc.) with users and validate technical and business assumptions. + Document ad-hoc algorithms to enable reusability, facilitate maintenance and future evolutions. 2. Data engineering: 40% + Perform data exploration on both internal data (SAP, SIEBEL, Saleforce.com) and Customer's data (aircraft data, maintenance data and ad-hoc data sources) to propose relevant solutions to business needs and requirements. + Assemble large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements. + Work with stakeholders including the Data Governance, Data Analyst, Product and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues. 3. Metrics and data analysis: 20% + Perform statistical analysis, monitor data quality and handle corrupted data sets. + Create efficient visualizations and presentations for business uses. + Manage ad-hoc projects to frame, prototype, validate and deploy data analytics solutions within Airbus Helicopters North America (AHNA) in order to simplify internal operational processes and improve business performance. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Required: + Bachelor's Degree in aircraft engineering, mathematics (statistics), computer science or data science, Or equivalent work experience. Preferred: + Master's Degree in data science Experience: Required: + A minimum of 2 years' experience in software programming (see technical Proficiency section for specific types of languages) Preferred: + A minimum of 3 years' experience in software programming Licensure/Certifications: Required: + Agile and Scrum training (minimum 20 hours) Preferred: + Agile and Scrum certification Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Required: + Strong computer skills + Good presentation skills + Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis Preferred: + All the above plus project management skills Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): + Strong written and verbal skills in English necessary for influencing and negotiations Technical Systems Proficiency: + Demonstrated knowledge in typical languages: R or Python or C++/Java, SQL is required + Demonstrated knowledge in typical data visualization software: Spotfire or Tableau is required Travel Required: + 10 to 15% Domestic and International Citizenship: + Authorized to Work in the US Clearance: + None Decision Making, Complexity: + Key position to making technical recommendations, problem fixes and technical improvements to existing data analytics solutions. + Interfaces one on one with customers (internal and external), management and functional experts. [Required daily] + Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
