Responsible to maintain customer relationship as it relates to all quality issues, timely response to customer complaints, following up on implementation of permanent corrective actions to improve the overall product quality. Support implementation of the quality assurance program. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Quality ManagerPOSITIONS SUPERVISED: noneAUTHORITY: Enforce and promote the quality system and local/division goals. Promote awareness of customer requirements and legal requirements at all levels of the organization. Promote compliance to quality and environmental policies/procedures and support creation. Stop any process relevant to quality or safety. Manage documentation, investigation, and corrective actions for non-conforming product. Report to management any customer quality issues. Inform management of any opportunity for improvement.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to): Drive quality mindset throughout the entire organization, to exceed customer expectations and live a zero-waste culture. Support implementation, maintenance, and improvements of the existing quality system. Enforce controls to ensure adherence to QA procedures and policies. Support engineering change control, process validation and equipment qualification/re-qualification in a manufacturing setting for key or strategic projects. Review and update control plans, inspection plans and manufacturing orders periodically in support of production. Act as SME for calibration and testing programs, including management of calibration schedule and activities, purchasing and inventory management of gages, calipers, etc. Research and define new equipment associated with quality control. Work with customers on an ongoing basis, responding to inquiries, rapidly identifying and correcting root causes of problems. Coordinate inspection of customer rejected material, defect(s) root cause analysis. Support the recommendations for corrective actions. Ensure the quality control guidelines are effectively integrated into the manufacturing process to maintain production schedules and reduce cycle times. Attend production meetings, update communication boards and communicate needs/feedback to all employees in the department. Support continuous improvement activities aimed at improving customer satisfaction. Identify and introduce 5S / process improvements as required. Support the Quality Manager in company audits of potential and/or existing customers. Perform and/or assist on internal audits and follow up with corrective actions. Good attendance is a must and flexible to working overtimeKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: 4 years of college degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance or similar role In-depth knowledge of ISO 13485, Good Documentation Practices and other applicable standards Working knowledge of SPC, Process Validation and Risk Management (FMEA, root cause analysis, etc.) Skilled in information technology, including setting up and maintaining automated test data collection at testing stations Knowledgeable and experience in performing calibration and issuing calibration certificates Advanced proficiency in SAP and MS Office products Excellent communication and organizational skills Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent experience is a plusAboutBaumann Springs:The BAUMANN Group has been a symbol of Swiss precision and quality for more than 130 years.
