Job Description
The Communications and Collaboration Systems Engineer has a dynamic
and pivotal role within the IT team's Desktop Solutions group. This
position is responsible for designing, supporting, and maintaining
the corporate AV environment while also providing engineering
support for Office 365 email and collaboration tools.
Your work will directly impact on executive-level communications,
company-wide events, and day-to-day collaboration across the
organization. You will interface with all levels of leadership and
must be comfortable interacting with the company's senior
executives and their administrative staff. This role requires
providing white-glove support for high-profile meetings and events
while also handling Desktop Support tickets as needed.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in AV systems
and Microsoft Office 365 solutions, combined with excellent
communication skills and the ability to work effectively under
pressure in a service-oriented environment.
Duties and Responsibilities Provide advanced support for Microsoft
Office 365 collaboration tools, including Teams, SharePoint,
OneDrive, and Exchange. Support virtual or hybrid conferencing
using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex. Set up,
operate, and troubleshoot AV systems for internal meetings, town
halls, training, and external presentations. Provide white glove
support for executives and board-level meetings. Work with
third-party AV vendors for installations or large events,
coordinating with facilities, IT, and external vendors as needed.
Handle incoming booking requests for AV equipment and setup.
Proactively identify potential issues that could impact user
experience and develop solutions, including researching and working
with vendors. Place orders for AV equipment and consumables;
inspect and verify all AV deliveries upon receipt. Manage AV
inventory including building and maintaining a spare parts
inventory and tracking equipment usage. Set up, configure, test,
maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot teleconferencing equipment and
multimedia devices. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AV equipment
(microphones, speakers, displays, video switchers). Document AV
system instructions and standard operating procedures and train
employees on AV tools and systems. Develop long-term strategies and
capacity planning for future AV equipment and corporate technology
needs. Evaluate vendor proposals and service agreements. Mentor
junior team members to help them develop their skills and take on
more complex tasks. Provide feedback to the end-user services team
on technical process issues to improve overall delivery service.
Support Desktop Solutions team by working Desktop Support tickets
as needed.
Required Experience/Skills 7+ years of experience in architecting,
supporting, and maintaining a corporate AV environment, including
teleconferencing, presentation, and general AV technologies. 3+
years of experience providing general Deskside Support to users in
a corporate environment. Experienced in the setup and operation of
event technology such as audio mixers, wireless microphones, video
matrix switchers, broadcast and PTZ cameras. Proficient with
Microsoft O365 tools (Teams, Live events) and Zoom webinars.
Skilled in installing and troubleshooting Microsoft OS, O365 Suite,
Teams, SharePoint, and Box. Working knowledge of Crestron, Logi, MS
Teams Rooms, Zoom, Windows and Android based UC platforms and
hardware. Familiarity with DSPs (e.g., Biamp, Q-SYS), switchers
(Crestron, Extron), and video routing. Understanding of audio/video
signal flow (HDMI, SDI, Dante, NDI, etc.). Ability to diagnose and
resolve issues quickly under pressure. Strong communication skills
with non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of IP Addressing for AV
over IP systems. Basic ITIL knowledge and experience with ITSM
tools (Helix, ServiceNow, Remedy, Cherwell, HEAT).
Nice-to-Haves Industry standard IT certifications (A+, Microsoft
Office, MCP). Experience in the oil and gas industry. Project
management experience. Experience with large-scale AV
implementations. Knowledge of emerging AV and collaboration
technologies.
Education High School Diploma required. Associate degree or
bachelor's degree in computer science or related technology
background strongly preferred.
Work Schedule and Requirements
Regular hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 PM, coordinated with teammates
based on business needs.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays for
rotational On-Call and event duties.
