Job Description:
Thompson Pipe Group is looking for driven individuals who will
use their experience, as a Coatings Production Supervisor, to
Organize, coordinate, and supervise employees and activities within
the fabrication department to ensure an effective and efficient
fabrication operation that meets safety, quality, and production
standards.Reports to Plant Superintendent.Essential Functions*
Assigns work to department personnel to attain department
objectives using knowledge of production processes, company
policies, production schedules, work orders, equipment capacity and
employee capabilities.* Read and understand project drawings and
specifications.* Ensure proper project pieces are produced
according to customer and or company specification.* Ensure 100%
product document traceability is kept up to date.* Readily
perceives and effectively responds to schedules and product flows
essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective,
quality-oriented manufacturing operations.* Establishes and
controls procedures to meet production schedules* Recommends and
initiates improvements to production processes, to increase
manufacturing efficiency.* Establish and control procedures to
ensure production of conforming fabricated assembly components.*
Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance
with quality standards.* Establishes and monitors cost control
systems to achieve department budget objectives.* Responsible for
compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements* Facilitates
and promotes company policy and the company Quality Improvement
program within all department work groups.* Provides training,
support, direction, and guidance to department personnel to
continually develop their work habits, job skills and safety
practices.* Evaluates employee performance and accountability.*
Provides objective feedback for continued employee growth.*
Recommends and/or administers personnel actions in accordance with
company policies and procedures.* Set department goals and develop
outline for achievement.* May be exposed to excessive noise,
welding gases and fumes, and varying weather conditions.* To work
overtime as required based on company needs.* Performs other duties
as assigned.Competencies* Communication Proficiency.* Extremely
detail Oriented.* Decision Making.* Bilingual (Spanish/English) -
Preferred* Problem Solving/Analysis.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis
position manages all employees of the department and is responsible
for the performance management and hiring of the employees within
that department.Work Environment* While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne
particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.* The noise level
in the work environment can be loud.Physical Demands* The physical
demands described here are representative of those that must be met
by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of
this job.* The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or
balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.* The employee must
frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 40 pounds.**Required Education and Experience***
Bachelor's degree in related field or five years production
supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, desired*
Industry experience a plus.* Computer literate with experience
using IFS and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint)* Ability to learn and understand software and complete
transactions pertaining to fabrication or welding operations,
excellent verbal, and written communication skills* Demonstrates
ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment
using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and
problem-solving skills, ability to exercise initiative, sound
judgment and effective time management in a fast-paced environment
with limited supervision* Read and interpret weld process according
to AWS and ASME* Ability to understand and apply workplace safety
procedures* Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and
equipment required* Experience with cement, aggregates, and
polyurethane coatings.* NACE certification is a plus.* Ability to
successfully pass a NACE Certification course.* NDT Experience is a
plus.* Experience in Hydraulics, mechanical and electrical.*
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a comparable heavy
manufacturing environment* Knowledge of OSHA and demonstrated
record of safety-focused leadership.* Knowledge and experience with
