Job Description National equipment manufacturer servicing the Supermarket, Big Box Stores, Material Handling and Food Service industries, is looking for a Production Supervisor. This role will be responsible for managing the nightly operations including the routine communication of job assignments, training for specific product runs, and placement of production workers in assignments. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Primary responsibilities are: -- Preparation and communication of daily/weekly production between the management and the shop floor -- Verify raw materials and sub-components against work orders to ensure availability for order fulfillment. -- Production scheduling -- Lead a manufacturing department of continuous improvement that meets or exceeds department expectations -- Maintains a clean, organized and safe working environment and ensures follow safe working practices including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). -- Is able to read and interpret engineering diagrams and assembly drawings and communicate those effectively to associates. -- Provide operational training and document associate capabilities. -- Participate in inventory counts and is responsible for inventory control within the department. -- Is able to resolve problems in a timely manner and is flexible to meet changing demands at the customer level. -- Evaluates product quality to insure products meet or exceed internal and external requirements. -- Is a ---driver--- and maximizes the use of available resources. -- Is able to support management objectives regarding product and process improvements through LEAN initiatives. -- Perform quality checks of production -- Perform other duties as needed or assigned QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE -- High School diploma or GED equivalent required, Associates degree preferred -- 5 years--- experience in a lead or supervisory position in a manufacturing environment; preferably metal fabrication -- In-depth knowledge of stainless steel, aluminum and steel welding, fabrication and finishing -- Experience with metal fabrication tooling and machinery which includes press brakes, shears, tube bender, auto saw, and powder coat paint line operations -- Understanding of job travelers and inventory management -- Knowledge of computers and programs contained with Microsoft Office is a must -- Epicor software experience preferred -- Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculation -- Able to lead in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others -- Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant safety goals in a continuous improvement process -- Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, before and after schedule as needed -- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -- Able to write and communicate production reports and correspondences -- Bilingual --- Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish and English -- Lean Six Sigma experience a plus -- Robotic welding experience a plus -- Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results in fast paced environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical requirements listed in this section include, but are not limited, to the motor/physical abilities and skills require of position in order to successfully undertake the essential duties and responsibilities of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tool, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
