Radiation Therapist Location: Denton, TX Agency: Ambition 24Hours Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 7 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Medical Physicist Employment Type: Permanent Location: Denton, Texas, USA Job Summary The Medical Physicist provides clinical medical physics support for radiation oncology services in a community-based cancer center setting. This role supports safe, accurate, and high-quality radiation therapy delivery through equipment evaluation, quality management, treatment planning support, radiation safety oversight, and collaboration with physicians and clinical staff. Periodic travel to nearby affiliated sites may be required for staff coverage and operational support. Key Responsibilities Provide full clinical medical physics support for external beam radiation therapy and HDR procedures. Periodically evaluate radiation therapy equipment for performance, reliability, lifespan, and replacement planning. Design, implement, and maintain the department s quality management and quality assurance programs. Support radiation oncology information systems, including protocol development, system maintenance, and data integrity. Perform radiation safety duties, including regulatory compliance, monitoring reports, and safety documentation. Participate in or lead clinical projects aimed at improving treatment quality, safety, and departmental workflows. Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, therapists, and technical staff to support patient care. Provide consultation and technical guidance related to treatment planning and delivery. Qualifications Completion of a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics residency program. Master s degree or PhD in Medical Physics or Physics from an accredited institution. American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified or board eligible. Valid Texas Medical Board license (or ability to obtain). Preferred minimum of two years of experience as a practicing medical physicist. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
